Tongadive secures sustainable innovation funding from UK Research and Innovation
Tongadive has secured funding for development of its next generation platform TraceKen 2.0 from Innovate UK, a part of UK Research and Innovation which is a non-departmental public body funded by a grant-in-aid from the UK government. Tongadive will use this funding to develop a ‘first of its kind’ track and trace product utilizing GS1 serialised data and combining enterprise blockchain technology with Machine Learning (ML) analytics engine. This marks Tongadive’s entry in a select group of global technology players working on making healthcare supply chain secure, sustainable and efficient through immutable visibility of product consignment journey
Speaking on the award, Innovate UK Executive Chair Dr Ian Campbell said, “In these difficult times we have seen the best of British business innovation. The pandemic is not just a health emergency but one that impacts society and the economy. Tongadive’s TraceKen 2.0, combining blockchain with macine learning to promote sustainable healthcare supply chain, along with every initiative Innovate UK has supported through this fund, is an important step forward in driving sustainable economic development.”
Tongadive CEO, Anubha Dixit, acknowledged the recognition from UK Government backed fund and stated “This award is a validation of Tongadive’s core vision of simplifying complex technology to solve some of the pressing issues in supply chain. The award will help Tongadive develop and demonstrate a unique product that would promote circular economy while helping fight counterfeiting and fraud. Post Covid recovery is likely to see an exponential demand for technologies that promote circular economy and this project helps Tongadive take a leadership position in the adoption and democratisation such echnologies.”
